Facebook declared a change to its policy on the storage of live videos.
With immediate effect, all freshly produced live videos will be automatically deleted after 30 days of storage.
This approach differs from the old one, which kept live video footage for as long as possible.

Facebook will allow users to replay, download, and share any new live video for a maximum of 30 days starting on February 19, 2025. The platform will automatically remove the content after this period.
- The removal of older live videos
The removal of live videos that are more than 30 days old will likewise happen gradually over the next few months. Prior to the scheduled removal of their archival videos, Facebook will send users an email and in-app warnings, giving them ninety days to save, move, or convert the content.
- New Tools for Downloading and Transferring
Facebook is launching new tools that facilitate fast downloads or transfers straight to cloud storage services to assist users in preserving or migrating their previous live recordings.

How to Handle Your Live Videos
Facebook has listed many ways users can keep or reuse their content:
1. A single download
- Choose a single live video from your Facebook profile or page.
- Choose “Download video” from the “…” menu after opening the content in full screen.
2. Download in Bulk
- Go to the Videos or Activity Log tab on a page or profile.
- To locate all qualifying broadcasts fast, filter for “Your live videos.”
- Download several videos in a certain time frame.
3. Upload Videos to Cloud Services
- Start the download process and select “Transfer live videos.”
- Pick a cloud storage service that works well for you, such Dropbox or Google Drive.
- Transfer your data with ease without having to keep files on a device by hand.
4. Change to Reels
- To make reels, cut out the best parts of any live video feed.
- Post these shortened videos on your Facebook page, where they remain active for more than 30 days.
Delaying the Removal
Facebook lets you postpone the deletion for six months if you need more time to handle your saved live videos.
There will be no more ignored videos after this grace period.
